Cantor Andrea Rae Markowicz is the Cantor of Am Shalom in Glencoe, Illinois.  Ordained from Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion, Cantor Markowicz holds a Master of Sacred Music from HUC-JIR, a Master of Music in Voice Performance from The Cleveland Institute of Music, and a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Michigan. Cantor Markowicz was a Cantorial Soloist at Central Synagogue in New York City and is featured in Shalom Broadway!TM, which she has performed with symphony orchestra and at Performing Arts Centers throughout the United States. With an extensive background in music, both secular and liturgical, favorite experiences include touring with Robert Goulet in Camelot, performing under the direction of the original director and choreographer in an award winning production of Hair, and creating concert programs bridging the divide between secular and sacred music.
